I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of hearing excuses now. Not from others. From myself.
Excuses on why I didn’t do the thing I said I would. Why I didn’t wake at the time I wanted. Why I didn’t work out today…the thing is… the rent is due every single day. We need to pay it every single day.
And when we don’t it feels like we’re running behind. That’s the worst feeling in the world, for me.
I’ve always operated at my best when I’ve pushed myself to have the discipline to do what I want along with the thing I need today.
So, I’ve been focusing on turning goals into daily actions and being disciplined enough to execute on that. Which led me to think about how can I build my day to be aligned to what I want to do as well as what I need to do
Too often, need (your job, family, friends) come first.
That’s easy. That’s status quo. It’s following the path of least resistance
And what ends up happening is we end up doing what we want…either sporadically or continuously deferring it to a future date.
So, here’s my Perfect Day Framework™️- adapt it to your day as you will:
1. Wake up. Putter around, meditate, journal for the next hour
2. Gym- 1 hr
3. Work on my side business- 1 hr
4. Day job- 8-9 hrs
If I can hit all 4 things in a weekday, that is my perfect day. That is what gives me joy.
To do work that is aligned to where I want to go in life.
Also imp to be self aware on is what doesn’t give you as much joy or what are you willing to cut back on in this season of life?
For me- that is going out drinking every Friday night and traveling a lot. That’s something that I am committing to deprioritising for 6 months
Anyhow, if you found this interesting, let me ask you- what does your Perfect Day™️ look like?
